Canyonlands National Park

Park #5 of 9: I decided to stay in Moab and hit both Canyonlands and Arches from the same area. When first entering the park I didn’t see anything spectacular. But don’t like the beginning fool you – the views are to die for! Also make sure you have enough gas. I was nervous driving back out that I might run out – but I didn’t know how much there was to see! There are two distinct different parts of the park, Island in the Sky and the Needles district. Ignorant Kelsey was annoyed when she was planning that there were no roads to connect the two! The driving distance between them was just absurd! When I got here I realized there was a VERY good reason for this- namely the MASSIVE canyon. Who knew Canyonlands would have a big canyon 🙂 I opted for Island in the Sky since it was closer to where I was staying.

I started what I thought was a short hike but turned out to be much longer out to the edge to get some really stunning pictures.

I also stopped by the famous arch in the park. I couldn’t figure out why this view was so familiar to me because I clearly had never been there, until I remembered where I had seen it!

Now I use it as my computer background and naturally I think its even better than the one that they have.20170929_141954.jpg

I made a stop off at Dead Horse Point State Park which is right around the corner from here. I didn’t manage to take any pictures that rival the ones I have seen but it was beautiful nonetheless!20170929_153618.jpg

After stressing out and driving on gas fumes out of the park, I filled up at the entrance (near the dinosaur museum) and headed down into Moab to set up camp!
