Park #9 of 9: October 2017
Last park of the trip! I was pretty exhausted by the end of this trip. I knew it would takes me weeks to process all the amazing things I had seen in this short time. This was a great park to end on though because while there wasn’t a ton of hiking, it was definitely a big change in scenery!

I can see where they can get some of the names from these hills, they had some amazing colors. But the most spectacular things were the petrified logs! The colors were unbelievable!
They had one tree that formed a bridge. They have been working to reinforce it because it will likely be eroded due to rain

Although I don’t agree with some of the timelines they posted, it was still an enlightening experience to see how they were formed. Some looked so much like logs until you touched them and they were smooth stones!

This park also had what they called Newspaper rock. It had a TON of hieroglyphics on it. Sometimes I see these things and its hard for me to believe it isn’t just some prank from local teenagers.

This park was fun to explore, and the logs were fun to photograph. All in all a good half day spent here before driving off to my hotel. I always treat myself to a hotel on the last night of a trip, mostly because after 8 nights of sleeping on the ground a hotel bed feels like heaven. Flew back out of Las Vegas the next day so I had a long drive ahead of me, but plenty of things to reflect on!
